One of my favorite sites is 1001 rules for my unborn son. His aesthetic is fantastic and most of his advice seems very sound. Simple and firm, small doses of wisdom. What a good idea! If I compiled a similar list, I would include:
Saturday I visited a friend's yard sale to say hello, and on the way home bought some lemonade from a couple boys with a corner stand. It took me just a minute's pause to stop the car, fish 50 cents from my wallet and make the exchange. I got a few sweet, cool sips on the drive home, and the nervous-excited look on the boys' faces was worth it. (Even if I'm not an example, I've got a dad that taught me the value of youth entrepreneurship.)
Stop for lemonade stands.

Do you have any rules? Simple truths or wise words? Lemonade stands?

What a neat site!
Don't you just love lemonade stands? So fun! :)
Let's see... considering I have a young son, I should have lots of wise anecdotes, but I can't think of anything major off the top of my head.
Here are just a couple:
-don't be afraid to play in the rain and jump in the puddles
-let the little hands help in the kitchen
-be creative and make things whenever possible!
i spent a lifetime waiting to learn one lesson i found in iceland, "don't think, just feel". life is definitely an emotional event and worthy of all the expression we can muster. the ancients greeks (not geeks), upon one's death, did not give a eulogy but rather asked the simple question, "did he have passion?"
Read children's books. Say "I love you" to those you love (a lesson I learned from working with stroke patients who suddenly lose that ability). Make that first mark in a blank journal--the purity of the white pages and potential can be intimidating.
I love you, MOM
