Dog Day Afternoon

A not-quite-sunny, lazy Sunday afternoon out with the dogs
(and my favorite guy, of course).

*Did you know the term "dog days" refers to the "The hot, sultry period of summer between early July and early September"? Also: "The term "Dog Days" was used by the Greeks (see, e.g., Aristotle's Physics, 199a2), as well as the ancient Romans (who called these days caniculares dies (days of the dogs)) after Sirius (the "Dog Star", in Latin Canicula), the brightest star in the heavens besides the Sun. The dog days of summer are also called canicular days."
Isn't that cool? I like anything named after stars.

This little pug was very sociable, though he didn't want to go in the water (understandably). What characters, those pugs. I'd like one or two, to have or to visit (what do you think, Melinda? Or maybe a pup that will fetch?) ;)

What a great time - that dog park is the best! Nathan looks adorable... love the glasses :) (I notice the specs now that I'm in the club and all)

Have a great week!
