Furry Friends Festival

This January over 600 neglected dogs in Snohomish and Skagit Counties (just above Seattle) were seized from kennels and puppy mills. An astonishing number of them are pregnant, and many are sick and need immediate medical help. Several area shelters have taken them in for care while charges are brought against those formerly profiting from these dogs. The cost to provide their basic needs is overwhelming.

But not all is so bad--these dogs are now out of harm's way, and the story is about to get better!

In response to these sad events, I am pleased to announce the Furry Friends Festival, a benefit for the dogs and shelters affected by these raids. A large group of volunteers has come forward to organize a day of fun for the community, which includes live music, an arts and crafts fair, live and silent auctions, children's activities and entertainers, dog parades, and more! There will be a catered dinner that evening followed by a live auction. The event takes place Saturday, February 21, at the Holiday Inn Downtown Everett.

Wish us luck, dear readers! :)

How sad! But what a hopeful cause. Is this benefit something that you helped organize? If I were there, I would love to come and be a part of it all... it sounds like a wonderful event. Best of luck to you and the furry friends!

I hope the event is a great success! They're fortunate to have you on board. :)

Your new logo design looks really good. I think the change of silhouette and the red accents are a nice touch. And the "heart paw" design keeps the theme as well. Here, here - Well done!
